The Penfolds Team – Meet Becky
We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again… People buy from people, and this is why we refer to ourselves as Penfolds Property People. Relationships and open conversations are at the very heart of what we do. As a vendor, we appreciate that you need to know who you’re trusting with the sale of your home. When you list with us, it will be only ever be Helen or Becky, the owners of Penfolds. We’ve already introduced you to Helen. Today it’s time to meet Becky, the other half of the Penfolds team.
Introducing Becky:
Before embarking on her career in real estate Becky owned and operated a successful professional photography business. You won’t find her behind the camera today, but her exacting eye for detail will serve you very well in so many ways throughout the marketing and sale of your property.
In 2006, Becky joined Burns & Webber, where she developed her genuine passion for helping people and gained a reputation for an honest, no-nonsense approach along the way. She eventually moved to Curchods Estate Agents, where she set up and ran the Business Development department. Becky’s time in this role gave her insight into a demonstrable shift in the real estate industry. Leading her to what she considers her bravest career step to date, setting up Penfolds Property People to bridge the gap between advances in digital technology and the qualities of traditional service.
An interview with Becky:
What’s the best thing about working with Helen?
An unequivocal assurance that I’m working with someone who shares the same values as I do and has the same goals for our business. I’m proud that we’ve developed a successful professional pairing while still maintaining our very happy mother and daughter relationship.
What unique qualities do you bring to Penfolds?
An inner fight to do what’s right for our clients. Finding a buyer isn’t enough; it needs to be the right buyer for the right seller. At Penfolds, we place great importance on helping our vendors take the next steps on their property journey; everything we do is with consideration of their unique circumstances in mind.
What do you think is the most critical aspect of marketing a property for sale?
I believe it’s essential that we know the house we are selling as well as the owner. There’s also the importance of knowing our potential buyer’s situation, needs and wants. The final part of the property marketing puzzle is to advertise the property to reflect those requirements.
What is the most important room in your home and why?
The kitchen. I know it’s a bit of a cliché but it’s where all the fun happens. And, more importantly, the conversations. My kitchen is where Helen and I first talked about launching Penfolds, and here we are!
What’s your signature dish?
Ha! I think my kids would say my cooking is all a bit random to have a signature dish. But my son maintains that if he could only eat one meal for the rest of his life, it would be my Spaghetti Bolognese, that’s good enough for me!
If somebody gave you £100 in an envelope and told you to buy something for your home, what would you buy?
An excellent white burgundy!
What are your three favourite places to visit in West Sussex?
- Goring-by Sea – For a walk along the beach and breakfast at the Sea Lane Café.
- Cowdray Park – For the golf course, café and shop.
- Fishers Farm in Wisborough Green – To spend time with my grandchildren!
How many children and grandchildren do you have?
Three children and four grandchildren. One granddaughter and three grandsons. The three boys were born within nine months of each other. Christmases are going to be busy from here on in, especially as my eldest grandson was born on Christmas day!
What’s on your travel bucket list?
Sailing a catamaran around the British Virgin Islands.
If you could learn to do any one thing, what would it be?
Sail a catamaran!
