Since moving to Ifold for the rural environment and the very good primary and secondary schools in the area, we have been very pleased with both. The staff both at Plaistow and at the Weald are very approachable and helpful.
The parish of Plaistow and Ifold has a good community spirit and there are plenty of activities in which to get involved and we have enjoyed the celebrations they have put on for the residents of all ages such as royal jubilees, arts and crafts, bonfire nights, quiz nights etc.
Ifold and the surrounding area has some lovely places to walk and the garden here at Oak Cottage itself reflects the nature around it. While here we have regularly taken part in the summer butterfly count, the January bird watch (we have seen 39 different species here) and our eldest has created a garden life YouTube channel showcasing the flora and fauna we have in the garden. We have tried to provide plenty of shelter around the edges for the birds and minibeasts, one area has been left wild with various little shelters and the Bee Hotel has some bee larvae waiting to hatch in the spring.
