As temperatures heat up for summer, if you’ve been reading recent headlines, we would forgive you for thinking that the property market might never reach anything other than tepid. But it’s important to remember that people will always have reasons to move house, whether upsizing, downsizing, or relocating. Furthermore, the property market has historically shown long-term resilience in adversity.

With thirty-five years of combined estate agency experience under our belts, we have navigated the highs and lows of our industry throughout our careers, including through the 2008 economic crisis. However, as your property partners, we firmly believe in open and honest conversations. We know our clients appreciate frankness, and there’s no denying that as the average two-year fixed-rate mortgage rises above 6%, the market may take slightly longer to settle than some previous predictions.

That said, after last year’s ill-fated mini-budget and the subsequent turbulence, we have seen a modest upturn in monthly sales and transactions and some signs of stabilisation in our local area.
